I've been living in this house that I built for over three years now.
During that time, there have been many changes to our home.
The most significant is the garden.
It became the concrete garden!!!
Of course, I've aged a lot too! (But let me clarify, I didn't age from hardship... just naturally 😢)
Our house is in the shape of a 'ㄷ', with a garden in the center.
The feel of the house changes so much depending on the garden.
Initially, I decorated the garden with just grass and trees......
First of all, the lawn is very pretty.
But it's not always pretty.
Even though it's a small garden, maintaining its beauty requires constant mowing.
If you miss just one session in the summer, grass shoots up everywhere.
I quite enjoy tending to the garden, so I felt good every time I mowed the lawn.
My wife thought I was strange, but what can I do if it makes me happy? ^^
However, the problem lay elsewhere.
When the kids played in the garden and came back inside, they'd bring grass all over them, dirtying the house.
I dislike dirt.
And, oh, the number of insects living in the grass! 😢
Also, birds come to eat those bugs and leave their droppings everywhere.
They treat our home like a toilet.
Eventually, I couldn't stand the mess and surrendered in the battle against the grass.
That was exactly one year ago.
Now, I've poured concrete in a grid pattern to create the garden.
I wanted to give it a modern feel, with a touch of the jungle.
So, I planted dense trees and even brought in birch trees.
I also installed round lights,,
But there still feels like there's so much more to decorate.
I plan to leave the evolving changes here.
If you have any advice for our home garden, please do tell.
I really mean it.

이제 이 집을 짓고 살아온지가 3년이 훌쩍 넘어간다.
그동안 우리 집은 많은 변화가 있었다.
그 중 가장 큰건 정원이다.
물론 나도 크게 늙었다!(미리 말하지만, 고생해서 늙지 않았다.. 그냥 늙음 ㅠㅠ)
우리 집은 'ㄷ'자 형태의 집으로 가운데 정원이 있다.
이 정원의 형태에 따라 집의 느낌이 너무 달라진다.
처음에는 완전한 잔디밭과 나무들로 정원을 꾸몄는데,,
일단 잔디밭은 너무 이쁘다.
하지만 항상 이쁘진 않다.
작은 정원이지만, 이쁨을 유지하려면 항상 깎아야 한다.
이건 뭐,, 여름에 한타임만 놓쳐도 잔디가 여기저기 쑤욱 올라온다.
난 정원을 관리하는걸 워낙 좋아해서 잔디를 깍고 할때마다 기분이 좋았다.
아내가 정말 날 이상하게 보았지만,,, 기분이 좋은걸 어찌하나 ^^
하지만 문제는 다른곳에 있었다.
아이들이 정원에서 놀고 들어오면 몸 여기저기에 잔디가 붙어서 집안까지 더러워 진다.
난 더러운 것이 싫다.
거기다 잔디에 사는 벌레들은 어찌나 많은지 ㅠㅠ
또 그 벌레를 먹으려고 새들이 날라와서 똥을 싸놓는다.
우리집을 화장실로 아는 놈들이다.
결국 난 더러움을 못견디고 잔디와의 싸움에 항복을 하였다.
그게 바로 1년 전 일이다.
현재는 콘크리트를 격자무늬로 부어서 정원을 만들었다.
모던한 느낌과 함께 뭔가 정글같은 느낌도 주고 싶었다.
그래서 빽빽한 느낌을 주는 나무들을 심고, 자작나무까지 새로 들였다.
동글한 조명까지 설치를 하였는데,,
아직 꾸밀 부분이 한가득인 느낌이다.
하나 하나, 변화하는 모습을 이곳에 남겨놓을 예정이다.
